I have used my lifestream this week to share some useful concepts around digital ethnography and formulate my focus when analysing participant behaviour within my MOOC in the coming week. I stumbled upon a very interesting academic article on Modelling and Analysis of User Behaviour in Online Communities which conceptualised ideas around traits and trends in online behaviour.
Understanding the differences between netography and ethnography, as well as the similarities between has given me a good overivew of how to develop my own study. The immersive, descriptive and intuitive nature of these studies can allow me to focus on the context within the MOOC environment involving participant discussion and behaviour.
Considering my finished study, I would like to construct something in audio format which would suit the theme of the MOOC (Vocal Recording Technology) as well as give me a interesting medium for translating my findings. Im not sure how I am going to put it together at the moment but hopefully that will materalise in the next week or so.
