Week 6 recap

Unfortunalty, on Tuesday I came down with a really bad virus/bug? which pretty much left me in bed all week hence my little contribtion to the blog.  I did however still manage to dip in and out of the Audio Recording Techniques MOOC in the moments I had enough energy to make sense of it all.

I now feel as if I have a solid focus for the digital ethnography after going over a few possible candidates.  How much support do you need from other participants when completing a MOOC, and how much support do you offer the community?  I am hopefully going to post a messsage on the discussion forums asking other participants to fill in my short questionaire around these two questions and then display my results in a smart audio file using the tips and tricks from the MOOC.

At the beginning of the week, I posted some animated Gifs which related to the 4 different types of online learner put forward by Kozinets which allowed me to consider the 4 roles in my own MOOC participation.  I guess depending on the context and subject of the MOOC will change my role within it, if I feel as if I can contribute to the discussion more then of course my role will differ from a MOOC where I am an absolute novice.  Rather than catagorise myself as a certain type of online learner, I feel as I fit into all the different roles depending on the situation.
