The genre is one of horror, and certainly dystopian, the references more to do with the mechanical than the digital perhaps, but many of the ideas of human vs machine apply, and there is the sense of a vast mega urban city of ‘things’ (a parallel to the internet of things?), which controls and subsumes identity in a nightmarish way.
