Week 3 recap

posthumanart

Moving on from cyborgs and cyper-punk culture this week, I aimed to gather further understanding of the relationship between posthumanism and education from  the arguments and challenges displayed in the Bayne and Miller readings.  Alongside these notions, new questions began to emerge such as, ‘Is the posthuman educable? and How do we educate the posthuman?

Early in the week, I worked on my visual artefact about ‘Being Human’.  I incorporated a Bob Dylan backing track (times they are a changin) to try and display that change has happened many times in human history, and our own development into the posthuman is no different.  Dylan also promotes other connotations of development, such as his own change from acoustic guitar to electric in 1965.  It was great to take a look at other visual artifact examples to stimulate ideas and gain a deeper understanding of notions of digital memory, transhumansim and being human.

I also linked my instagram account to my lifestream to try and add some more visuals to my blog whilst finding some great examples of posthumanist art in the process.
