This interested me, as in my current town Tokyo, people really do communicate their feelings and indeed most ‘texts’ or short ‘mails’ using using not words but instead a wide range of emojis or anime characters. This is big business, with a lot of corporate brand marketing involved. It’s interesting to reflect as to whether these ’emojis’ will define our feelings as much as they (apparently) currently stand proxy for them, this is it seems a possibility if we think in terms of how language and conceptual schemes work with respect to thought or the expression (experience of ’emotion’). This point clearly has implications for personal identity also as the image of Larry below implies.
